Instagram Images

I LOVE Instagram. Here are two Advent calendars that were created with printed Instagram images. You can edit the pictures with a mobile phone app to insert the numbers and then print them out via an online app. Or if you have the software, add the desired numbers or texts on the computer. There are countless online companies for printing. Depending on the choice of pictures, you can print a few extra calendars and give them away. Here are two advent calendars from my collection of Instagram pictures.

My husband participated in the Chicago marathon that October, so the calendar consisted of 24 pictures from that vacation. Every day a picture can be attached to a string of lights or a ribbon with small clothespins. Paper clips would also work. And come Christmas you have a collection of beautiful memories on the wall.

The second calendar is for me made with 24 Christmas images. This calendar decorated my shop window.

If you don’t have a printer or pictures, use an online company. Or you can create collages and write texts on cards. And if you have small children, just let the little ones do the creations.

The images were printed on card paper and about a square of 13 cm / 5″ when cut to size. The cards can be attached to a ribbon or a chain of lights with small clothespins or attached to the refrigerator with magnets.

Postcard Advent Calendar

Klaus gets a self-made Advent calendar every year. That year it was one without sweets. The calendar consisted of 24 envelopes each containing a postcard. It was a mix of images, some with inspirational quotes, a short poem or story, or just a winter photograph from Vancouver and local mountains. It took me quite a while to create these 24 cards.

The fact that the calendar did not contain any sweets was not very popular in the end. On his way to work on December 1st, he stopped at a store and bought the chocolates himself…
