Minimal Christmas Displays
Some like it opulent and others minimal. Your choice of decorating the home for Christmas may also be dictated by the space you have. Apartment dwellers have different requirements than house owners. Or if it’s your first place away from home. Money may be as tight as space. The first few years of my professional life I lived in tiny space but always had a little decoration during the season. Also the Scandinavians prefer their Christmas look very minimal in volume and colour choices.
Here are a couple of ideas that don’t take up a lot of space and still look festive.
All White
A beautiful cream coloured glass bauble, a snowstar that glitters, a feather and a white satin ribbon was sued to create this door hanging.
The same decoration as above was used here to adorn a floor lamp.
And lastly this beautiful bauble was hung with a black silk ribbon.
Little Merry Christmas Flags
There’s good kitsch and bad kitsch. I guess it’s in the eye of the beholder. When I came across this cuckoo’s clock I fell in love with it and had to have it. What sold me was that it actually works.
Print the flags on a heavier paper. The STILLE NACHT flags were printed on gold card paper and the MERRY CHRISTMAS flags on white card stock. Download the PDF for printing.
The triangles on the print templates are arranged in a way that they can easily be cut out with an X-Acto knife. When cut, fold top part over and tape on the back. String the flags on twine or ribbon in the correct order.
A Touch of Nature
Little effort goes into this vase filled with a small bough from the Christmas tree. The glass vase sparkles the most when placed near a window.
Star Collection
A trio of lovely Christmas stars can be displayed on a stack of books, your desk, a dining table, or on your night table. They just look so very lovely. I folded the two German Christmas stars myself.
