Inspired by Elf
“The best way to spread Christmas Cheer, is singing loud for all to hear.”

The other evening I watched Elf. Again. The plan was to create as many paper snowflakes as possible. So what better movie to watch than the one that inspired it all..? I manged to create just over 40 snowflakes while following Buddy’s New York adventures. I used mostly 11″ x 11″ sheets to get better volume. And to mix it up a bit some stars are 8.5″ x 8.5″. Instructions for cutting can be found here or just google it. Since the snowflakes are hanging from the ceiling and there’s so many of it, I concentrated more on speed than on creating to most elaborate and pretty creations. But still, it turned out wonderful!
“Buddy the Elf, what’s your favorite color?”

This is our dining room. It has already a great view for people watching. But those 40 plus snowflakes really make it a wonderful winter wonderland.
Some people iron the cutouts to make them more flat. I stacked them in a pile, placed a large book on top, and also a large bowl filled with water for enough weight. The next day all was ready to be installed. The flakes were hung with a piece of white wool taped to the paper on one end and the ceiling at the other.
“You have such a pretty face. You should be on a Christmas card.”
