Christmas Ornament Tradition

Submitted by Connie Harris

two handmade Christmas ornaments

My beloved friend and the creator of these ornaments is the late Judy Lipp of Bay Village, Ohio. Friends since 1970, we majored together at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She started making these after graduation and has gifted me one yearly for decades, from 1978 to last year. She just made 4 or so yearly in her retirement years but I was so fortunate to receive this loving keepsake. Some years my table top tree was decorated only with her ornaments – all dated with the year and my name on the back.

Judy passed away on October 19 of this year in Cleveland, Ohio. This Christmas, my little tree will be decorated entirely with her ornaments.

Et voilà! What a beautiful tree with so many precious memories. Thank you Connie for sharing.

Thank you, Esther, for sharing this loving legacy of Judy’s. I cherish my ornaments and this year’s tree is especially dear.
