Downtown Calgary

Calgary, here we are! Nice to meet you. We checked into the hotel and headed to the pub opposite for a drink. As we were about to leave the hotel it started to rain heavily. Something we never experienced in Vancouver. It was a wonderful natural spectacle!

Over the next three days we explored Calgary mainly on foot. Because of Covid everything was very empty and quiet. The Hotel Palliser was closed. That was rather disappointing since we have a drink in every place that has a Fairmont. In retrospect, the Covid measures were probably the reason why we didn’t find the city very impressive. Despite everything, we had a lovely time in Cowtown. The people are very friendly and sociable. And we enjoyed an Alberta steak every evening. Here some more pictures.
